Within the framework of the project entitled #OurFoodOurFuture / #GoEAThics: European youth stand up for sustainable food supply chains that respect migrant workers’ rights and reduce climate change, hunger and poverty as key drivers of migration (#Go EAThical) CSOLA/2020/411-443 (https://www.weworld.it/en/what-we-do/global-projects/ourfoodourfuture; https://ourfoodourfuture.eu/ ) funded by European Commission, WeWorld-GVC is looking for an PUBLIC AND ADVOCACY ACTION AND EVENT SPECIALIST
The specialist would provide advice in the following area of work:
Support for the design and implementation of public and advocacy actions and events in the area of climate change, migration, human rights and Corporate Human and Environmental Rights Due Diligence.
Structuring, organizing and supervising public actions, meetings and events addressed to engage youths , general public and policy makers at national and international level according to the project priorities.
Technical and thematic document and capacity building material design and elaboration.
Technical and thematic advice in recruiting external experts/panellists to be involved in the activities.
Organisational and logistic support to project thematic experts in the implementation of their activities. - Writing activing reports for each activity and collecting all the supporting document (participant lists, audio and video materials, didactical material etc.) -Advise to Campaign officer and communication experts to communicate events and initiatives - Participate in Internal WeWorld/project staff meetings when required
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Education
University degree in a relevant discipline, e.g., political science, international relations, economics, sociology, law and sustainability development. Master Degree is a plus.
Work history
At least three year’s progressive and extensive experience developing and/or managing events, public actions and meetings, especially with the involvement and engagement of young people.
Good Knowledge of climate change, migration, human rights.
-Specific knowledge of corporate due diligence in the topic of human and environmental rights.
Proved experience in dealing with European Institutions such as Parliament and European Commisison in organizing policy and advocacy events.
Proved experience in dealing with European co-funded projects in particular DEAR projects.
Proved experience to elaborate documents, policy briefs and capacity building tools.
Languages:
- Strong communication skills in Italian and in English. Good communication in one of the following languages is an asset: Spanish, Portuguese and French.
